Established by his family on 10 November 2011 in memory of Pat who was killed in a tragic air accident which also claimed five other lives at Cork Airport on 10 February 2011, there were 6 survivors. Pat was 45 years old.

Pat was born on the 3 March 1965. He trained as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG in Belfast. He also worked in London for seven years from 1995 – 2002. During that time he completed his MBA with London Business School and often recalled it being one of the best years of his life! In the summer of 2002, Pat moved from London to Dublin with KPMG and back to Belfast in 2005 when he was promoted to Tax Partner. Pat had a passion for Cycling, Rugby and The Great Outdoors.

Pat will be also be remembered by a new annual examination prize medal to be awarded by the Chartered Institute of Taxation. The Pat Cullinan Memorial Medal will be awarded each year to the Northern Ireland candidate who achieves the highest marks in the exams of the CIOT. The first medal was awarded in February 2013 to the candidate with the highest marks in the 2012 exams.

The Charitable purposes of The Pat Cullinan Charitable Trust are as follows:

  • The relief of poverty and poor health
  • The promotion of education
  • The promotion of religion

The trustees will not consider unsolicited proposals.

The trust will fund individuals and other registered charities or activities with clearly defined charitable purposes.
